This series of geocaches is placed around the Highland Creek neighborhood to introduce newcomers to Geocaching. Geocaching is an outdoor adventure where participants attempt to locate containers hidden in various ways (sometimes devious) by individual Cache Owners (CO’s). To play, participants use the Geocaching app or a GPS device to locate these hidden containers called geocaches (caches for short). Once found participants log their finds on a piece of paper or notebook inside the container, and then in the Geocaching App or the Geocaching website Geocaching.com. There are millions of geocaches all across Charlotte, North Carolina, the United States and other countries around the world. The caches in this series represent some of the many types you will find during caching adventures. I hope you enjoy them.
LPC - This is one of the most common types of caches you will come across, but finding your first one can be quite frustrating. LPC’s are typically found in parking lots and require some stealth to retrieve to avoid “Muggle” (non-Geocachers) attention. This one can be especially tricky since there it is adjacent to one of the Highland Creek pools and very popular Pickleball courts. Parking access is only available from 6 AM - 10 PM.
