Geocache Description:

Here is your chance to prove the the world that you aren't hooked on geocaching. How?

DO NOT LOG THIS CACHE!!!!

Some people are just natural born geocachers. If you're the kind of person that spent your childhood playing stealthy spy games, exploring the woods behind your house turning over every rock to see what you could find, hiding everyday objects in out of the way places where nobody would know to look, chances are you're born to cache. I'll admit, I love to drive around and explore, and not two weeks before I discovered geocaching, I woke up one morning and decided spur-of-the-moment to drive 3 hours away to a little state park for a one hour hike and a short tour of some historic sites. Why? For no other reason than, 'why not?' Many cachers just naturally have personality traits that lead to our easily becoming hooked on the game. Maybe it's the thrill of taking part in something that the average muggle never has a clue about; maybe it's the chance to get out and explore the world. Let's face it- whatever the reason, geocaching is addictive.

Are you hooked on geocaching? This is a chance to try to overcome your addiction.

How? Do not locate this cache, even though it is right here in front of you begging to be found! If you can drive within one mile of this location and are able to not search for this cache, feel free to share your success story by logging a note below! I can think of several local cachers who will see this cache at the top of their nearest caches page, and their first reaction will be to go out and find it.

(I know who you are, you know who you are, we all know that it's easy to get hooked on this sport. But it's not an addiction if you don't want to quit, right?

Well, what if you wanted to? I bet you couldn't do it...) This is just one of the many warning signs of a geocaching addiction. Experts on the subject (forum participants) have identified a number of other waning signs to be on the lookout for. Some examples are:

-You are familiar with words like, 'gerr'

'ybt" 'fghzc' 'ebpx' 'gur' or 'oruvaq'

  • You know the zip codes of all your out-of-town relatives off the top of your head.
  • You actually look forward to visiting the in-laws.
  • you no longer talk to your friends about geocaching- none of them will allow it.
  • You find yourself having to explain to your significant other why there is a sudden shortage of tupperware containers in the kitchen.
  • Your driveway is covered with spraypainted cache box silhouettes.
  • You begin making grocery purchases based on the items' usefullness as cache containers.

If  this describes you, chances are you have an addiction to geocaching. This cache is here to help. In order to prove that you do have the willpower to resist locating a cache if you want to, l've put out this cache for the sole purpose of not being logged. If you're thinking about locating this cache, chances are you fall into one of three categories:

Locals: You'll have the hardest time resisting this cache, since it will appear on your nearest caches list for as long as it remains unfound. Every time you check to see if any new caches have been hidden nearby, it will be waiting here, calling for you...

Vacationers: This cache is right in the middle of NOVA. Admit it, you plan your vacations around geocaching. Don't be ashamed, you're not alone...

Travelers: You may have the least challenge overcoming the temptation to log this cache, since there are several micros in nearby rest areas that you can grab instead. Still, though, there are plenty of restaurants and travel centers near the hospital so you may find it nearly impossible to resist stopping at this exit if you didn't take a break from the road while driving through Reston.....

This is probably one of the lamest drive-n-dump micros you'll ever find, and isn't even off of the highway right of way. It is in a spot that faces the road, and you don't even have to enter the woods to find it. There's no interesting history lesson, no trade items, no challenge, and chances are you probably don't have to worry about being stealthy. In fact, there's nothing to be gained from finding this cache except another check mark and a single number added to your stats.

So there's really no good reason to locate this one, except because it's there.

Oh yeah, if you find yourself too weak to resist the temptation to find this one, be sure to cover it back over well. It could disappear fast otherwise... Good luck not finding this cache!
