Antonín Benjamin Svojsík (5 September 1876, Prague – 17 September 1938, Prague) was a Czech pedagogue and the founder of the Czechoslovak Scouting organization Junák.
He was physically gifted from a young age and his dream was to become a gym teacher, which he also came true. He liked to sing and became a member of the Czech Singing Quartet, where he was nicknamed Benjamin as the youngest member. In 1909, he became acquainted with scouting, and two years later, during the holidays, high school professor Svojsík traveled to England. Here he visited a scout camp and discovered new methods of educating youth. In 1912, he led the first scout camp in Bohemia. After two years, he founded the scout association Junák - Czech Scout. Svojsík actively worked at the headquarters of the scouting organization, which constantly gained new members and a good reputation. Svojsík also served on the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from its creation in 1922 until 1933.
During the holidays of 1938, Svojsík went to Russia to learn about the education of the youth there. Upon his return, he declared that "Scouting excludes totality, totality excludes Scouting". He died shortly afterwards of a streptococcal infection.
