SG#1 Scaur Water Road
Just east of this road junction, Scaur Water is joined by Shinnel Water, and then winds its way further around Penpont village and church south east to join the River Nith south east of Keir.
Immediately south is the Capenoch Estate. Capenoch is a Scottish baronial house from around 1848/1855 with additions by David Bryce. Capenoch has been in the Gladstone family since 1850. The house has not been modernised and is often described as a time capsule of the period.
This cache is placed at the start of the Scaur Water Road, and series. There are three sections, firstly this road as far as Druidhall, and back to Penpont via the Marrburn Road, mostly cache and dash, with some stunning views.
The second section will run 9 miles to the end of the Glen, to Polskeoch. More about this in the notes for the next cache, Camling.
The third section takes in a minor road with truly exceptional views to the East of the Marrburn Road.
Plenty of room for trackables, pen provided.
