The seventh in an occasional series....
Sometimes you are out caching and come cross a container that shouldn't be there. Either an archived cache or two containers in the place of one. Do you pick them up, or do you leave them there? For me, sometimes its the former; sometimes its the latter. This one was definitely the latter, as the CO asked me to collect the cache.
I've decided to create an occasional series for those occasions that I 'womble' up those 'free' containers. I'll use them to set caches that I wouldn't otherwise have set. If you find one of your containers feel free to either curse me or thank me for the extra smiley on your map.
The cache is not at the published coordinates. there is no need to go there (other than it might be on your route to the final, depending on what route you take!).
When Wombles come of age, they carefully choose their names from the old atlas in Great Uncle Bulgaria's study. Alderney is Madame Cholet's assistant. She, like lots of things, is named after Alderney in the Channel Islands where Beresford lived towards the end of her life. She appeared in the early books, but was not in the first TV series. Her character was revived in the second TV series. She is a precocious young Womble with a slight disregard for the rules.
