A table lamp is a small, portable lighting device designed to be placed on a table or desk. It typically consists of a base, a light bulb, and a shade to diffuse the light. Table lamps are commonly used for task lighting, such as reading or working, as well as for decorative purposes to enhance the ambiance of a room.
The Pixar table lamp, known as “Luxo Jr.,” is modeled after the Luxo L-1 desk lamp designed by Jac Jacobsen in 1937. It became famous through Pixar’s 1986 short film “Luxo Jr.,” directed by John Lasseter. The lamp now features in Pixar’s logo, hopping in to replace the “I” in “PIXAR,” symbolizing the studio’s pioneering spirit in animation.
