Geocache Description:

In the bustling tourist area of Wisconsin Dells, known far and wide as the "Waterpark Capital of the World," a different kind of adventure awaits those who dare to seek it. Tucked away from the fun of the waterparks and the cheerful chaos of the tourist attractions lies Lake Delton, renowned among locals and tourists alike for its shimmering waters.

Years ago, during the 1980s, the Dells area was home to a wealthy and enigmatic inventor named Jasper Sterling. Sterling was a pioneer in waterparks and was famous for his groundbreaking work in creating elaborate water features and attractions. One of his most notable inventions, the Swirl, can still be seen today in Noah's Ark's "The Wave" wave pool. But Sterling’s most remarkable creation was not a water slide or fountain—it was a treasure, hidden away for safekeeping.

Sterling’s treasure was said to be a collection of items from days of waterpark and attraction past, which he concealed in a secret location by the lake. But Sterling was not just an inventor; he was also a master of puzzles and riddles. He crafted an elaborate system to guard his treasure, intertwining his love for radio technology with his passion for adventure.

Before disappearing under mysterious circumstances in 1991, Sterling left behind a curious note with a single instruction: “Between times the melody of the past sings in harmony with the echoes of the present, the treasure of the Dells shall be revealed.”

The note was accompanied by a faded postcard depicting the village of Lake Delton and a seemingly random frequency number - 92.7 FM. It took years of local speculation and sleuthing to uncover the truth. The frequency was tied to a former small radio station called “WIDELLS - The Dells’ Echo,” a station that played classic tunes and old-time radio shows from the past. The broadcast schedule was sporadic, only lasting but a few years before the building caught fire, burning to the ground.

During the time the station was on air, the station's broadcasts contained subtle clues embedded in the music and narration. When tuned into the station at the right moment, listeners would hear a unique audio signal that provided clues to the location of Sterling's treasure. The station's DJs, who were long-time friends of Sterling, hinted at this secret in their broadcasts, but only those who truly listened closely and decoded the clues could find the hidden wealth.

Recently, a newly built apartment building opened on the site of the former radio station, 92.7 FM. During construction, it was discovered that the radio station was awakened, broadcasting a weak signal to those nearby.

As a result, treasure hunters, history buffs, and radio enthusiasts gather to Lake Delton, hoping to put together the clues of the magical frequency and unravel the mysteries of Jasper Sterling’s treasure.
