Meet the Kitty
Cat Servant: LiteOnCache, Katie Bell
The Cat: Aria Skye a.k.a. Grand Kitten
Katie Bell-
My grandma goes caching ALLLLL THE TIME! I like going on adventures in my backpack with my momma and my Grammy! Sometimes they will let me walk on my leash but as soon as I start climbing trees (the best part) they put me back in the backpack!
LiteOnCache-
Meet Aria Skye, a.k.a. Grand Kitten. She is not your typical moody, persnickety cat, although she can be at times. My daughter found her as a kitten on the sidewalk in down town Alpena & went to great lengths to find her owner before ultimately keeping her when no one claimed her. My daughter had never had a cat before, only a dog, so she has raised Grand Kitten as if she were a dog. She started teaching Grand Kitten tricks & taking her for walks outside on a leash. Now, two years later, Grand Kitten knows how to sit up, stand on her 2 hind legs to reach, lay down, roll over, turn in circles & fetch all on command. She also plays hide & seek, where she will wait for exactly 10 seconds & then go find the hider. She really is amazing! She also loves car rides & we’ve taken Grand Kitten on hikes geocaching in the backpack carrier my daughter has for her at the Karst Sinkholes & at Long Lake County Park. (*I highly recommend geocaching both locations in Alpena County!) As you can clearly see, this Grammy is completely smitten with the Grand Kitten! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Grand Kitten has quite a wardrobe! My daughter dresses her in sweaters, costumes, shirts, dresses & she even has a bathrobe. She really is a spoiled feline & we love her like crazy! 😻

This mother daughter team submitted Aria within seconds of each other without the other knowing. Like minds think alike.
The Trail
The Fred Meijer Flat River Valley Rail-Trails runs from Belding to Greenville and caches are placed within the right of way for the trail. A few caches are placed along the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail that circles Greenville and a few are on the sides of the roads. You can walk, run, bike, snowshoe, and cross country ski the rail-trail between Belding and Greenville. Currently the majority of rail-trail is not paved; it is crushed asphalt.
Parking
Coordinates for parking are in the additional waypoints of the first cache to this Geo-Art, GCAWHAX.
Caches
Some caches may require wading, short tree climbs, log crossing, and climbing up steep hills. Many of the caches are winter friendly but several are at ground level. You may need to dig through the snow for a few. All containers are painted sports bottles with a tube inside for the log book. Containers are tethered to location with strong camoed fish line. Please do not break. Do not add any swag to the container or the next may not be able to get out the log book. If a cap comes up missing, please, let CO know or carry a few sports bottle caps with you. If the fish line breaks, fix or let the CO know.
Please be respectful of this area!
Respect the environment: Geocaching is a great way to get outdoors and explore new places, but it’s important to be respectful of the environment when you’re geocaching. Be sure to pack out all of your trash, and don’t damage any plants or animals when you’re searching for geocaches.
I have not provided a writing utensil ✏️, but you must sign the log to make a claim of found!
So make sure you have inscribed the log!
