Over my years of geocaching, I have accumulated a number of "interesting" geocache containers. Some I have purchased, others I have acquired at geocaching events, and others I have stumbled upon while caching or just roaming around. I have usually resisted using these as one of my cache hides, because the majority of my previous hides have been mystery caches, which are typically only found by a handful of people. It seemed a waste to use these interesting containers if only a few people were going to find them.
So I recently came up with the idea of creating a series of traditional caches that would use many of my unusual containers. Because the containers are so different from one another, it would cause the hides to be quite varied, which I think will result in an interesting caching series.
I have decided to list the sizes for all of these caches as "other", so as not to give anything away. I also will not be providing any hints about the nature of the containers in my cache descriptions or hints, because that would spoil the surprise, wouldn't it? But I will provide hints on how far each container is off of the ground, which should help to narrow down the search possibilities. I don't think that any of these will be really evil hides, and many of the containers will be familiar to experienced cachers. In any case, I hope that searchers will enjoy finding a number of cache hides that are not the same-old, same-old.
I do have two requests regarding these caches: 1) If you find one, please do not reveal anything about the container in your "found" log, and 2) be extra careful of watching out for muggles and being stealthy while searching for these. Many of these containers are one-of-a-kind and if lost cannot be replaced, so the cache will most likely be archived if it is muggled.
Happy hunting!
