Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Meyer Preserve. This is along the Superior Greenway Nature Trail in Superior Township of Washtenaw County. The park sits on land donated to Washtenaw County by landowners in the area and is used for preservation/conservation of natural land including all the flora, fauna and wildlife. The park hours are dawn to dusk so please do not attempt at night. Please try to park at the main entrance off the north side of Vreeland Road but the Conservancy Farm parking area as well as North Parking lot of the SGNT works too There is no fishing, hunting, or any or other activities that could disturb the natural environment allowed at this preserve. Anyways, this particular nature area contains just a small section of the 1.75 miles of unpaved trail system that functions as the Superior Greenway. At the Vreeland entrance to the park is access to this trail next to the kiosk.

This hide will continue my Unappreciated Nature Park series which will contain caches at various nature parks, preserves, or natural areas that aren't visited very often. These public places are nice areas to walk your dog, enjoy nature, and get some steps in, among other things. Please try not to ride a bike in the park but if you do, stay on the trails. This series' goal is to expose these beautiful hidden gems to more folks in the area. Most of the hides will be in Washtenaw County but a few will be up north in Isabella County. There will be a total of 15-20 caches in the series with no final. Have fun with these y'all and enjoy these parks!

For this cache in particular, you are looking for a small square camoed lock n lock box that has an official sticker on it. It will be great for the kids as it has quite a bit of swag inside. GZ is a nice short walk from the parking area to the cache. Be careful when attempting this in the warmer months because it can be pretty buggy so bring bug spray. It is also an excellent idea to wear pants since there are thorns, ticks, and poison ivy out here. If you plan on hiking the preserve and/or finding the other caches I have hidden along the SGNT, a large portion may involve tall grass or muddy spots so wearing boots or proper closed toed shoes as well as long pants with decent socks is an excellent idea. Be sure to enjoy the beauty of this park and the hike as well. The hide is tucked next to a couple of resting logs and it will be quite obvious when you come up on it. It's literally a few feet off the trail. It's meant to be pretty easy to find but if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to message me, I will respond ASAP. FTF prize is a crisp clean dollar bill. Bring a pen! Good Luck and Happy Caching :)
