This will be a great opportunity for the Eastern Cape geocachers to get together and celebrate twenty five years of geocaching. This will also be our Swan Song big event.
You will have the opportunity to catch up with many old and new geocachers in the region. As many teams as possible are encouraged to attend this event even if geocaching has taken a back seat for you now. It will give you the opportunity to call back the good times you experienced when geocaching and who knows may even kindle a tiny spark again.
A collection of thirty five Archived Iconic Geocaches
Unfortunately due to trail closures and roadside verges that have become extremely over grown these caches had to be uplifted and archived, but you will have the opportunity to reminisce if you had found them in the past. Each will have the listing and FTF log or best log and with number of finds. These will be there for viewing and reading but unfortunately not available for logging.
A sample how Geocaches have emerged over time as well as log books and logging methods
There will be a short presentation on these and a time for discussion by all.
There will also be a slide show with geocaching finds, events and activities.
Geocachers are encouraged to send me photographs they would like included in the slide show. Please email them in a file to geoipajero@gmail.com.
To end off there will be boerewors rolls
The hosts will provide boerewors and chicken rolls with condiments. Tea and coffee will be provided by the hosts. Please bring your own refreshments for the afternoon if you would prefer.
