The North Pacific Seaside Line is the general name for the 321-km-long coastline from Hiroo Town in Tokachi to Cape Nosappu in Nemuro City. Among them, the road along the coastline that straddles the three towns of Kushiro, Atsugishi-cho, and Hamanaka-cho is named “Cape and Flower Fog Kaido,” and about 40 km of it, from Matahitoki to Senpo-ji, is the Kushiro-cho coastline.
The beautiful coastline with its magnificent curves and oddly shaped rocks, as well as many difficult-to-read place names, offers a unique landscape.
