At the south end of Heenan Lake is a pipe that ends suddenly at nowhere that is particularly remarkable. My guess is that this pipe used to pump water to building further down the path. Though maybe it had some other use. Now it just ends unceremoniously. The cache is hidden a few feet from the end of this pipe.
This cache is about 1 mile from the trailhead gate with an easy walk on the old dirt road.
Heenan Lake is located along Monitor Pass, which typically gets closed in the winter when there is snow on the road. It makes for a beautiful drive when the pass is open though and this is a great spot to get out for a little walk or MTB ride.
