This is a brand new park in the City of Sunrise!
This memorial stands as a tribute to the brave veterans from all branches of the U.S. military who have honorably defended our nation's freedoms. Special parking spots are reserved for combat-wounded veterans.
Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a central plaza, featuring an elevated Memorial Monument engraved with "Duty, Honor, Country," surrounded by flags representing each military branch. The plaza includes a central star, a memorial bench, and a meditation labyrinth designed for reflection.
Beautiful paved paths and landscaping link the Memorial Plaza to other features, including monuments for each military branch, a remembrance pavilion, a new restroom facility, and an inclusive playground with zip lines, swings, and a variety of climbing and sliding equipment.
This park was made possible through the City's 2014 general obligation (GO) bond referendum, which continues to support improvements in parks citywide.
The park is open 7 days a week from 8am-dusk
