Geocache Description:

Welcome to Ingersoll Park!

The park is open from 6am to 9pm. DO NOT go after hours. Not only is it illegal, but I would advise against going in this area after dark. The surrounding area can get a bit dodgy so consider bringing a friend.

I discovered this park after moving to a new apartment this year, and walked past it on a way to try a new coffee place. In an ongoing effort to place more caches around Temple University, I decided this would be a good place for one. Upon doing some research, I discovered that this park and the row of affordable houses were constructed in 2015 to provide more housing and green practices to the area. The park features solar powered lamps, porous pavement, and a rain garden, as well as signage explaining the benefits of the project.

Here is a link to a website to learn more about the project. https://www.community-ventures.org/ingersoll-commons-ribbon-cutting/

I’ve had fun recently with some multi and mystery caches, so I decided to make one of my own. Everything you need to find the coordinates you can find within the park. The final cache is also hidden somewhere within the park. Good luck!

Final cache at:

N 39 58.AB0 W 75 09.CD0

To find AB:

Count the number of solar powered lamps in the park, then multiply this number by 2. Call this new number X.

Along the western side of the park, there is a row of affordable housing constructed as part of Ingersoll Commons. Count the number of housing units you can see. Add this number to X to find AB. (You should have a 2 digit number. Simply enter this number in place of “AB”)

To find CD:

Find the sign on the southeast corner of the park. According to the sign, what percentage of the pollutants entering our creeks and rivers do these green tools help remove? Subtract 5 from this number.  (You should have a 2 digit number. Do not multiply these digits together, simply type them in place of “CD”)

Thank you to gumshoeDOTus for bringing to my attention the issue with the previous answer to AB and CD. I have now changed the math so the coords are more accurate.
