Blueberry Express #9


This is part of a series of 13 caches on the old rail trail that can be walked or cycled. Parking is available at: Exhibition Street, N45 05.206 W064 30.475; Lanzy Road N45 05.592 W064 30.348, Brooklyn Street N45 05.004 W064 30.543.


In 1904, the facility was moved to its present site on 1,136 ha (2,810 acres) northwest of Kentville with its southern boundary along the Cornwallis River. The eastern boundary of the base abutted the Cornwallis Valley Railway which operated north from Kentville to, providing efficient transport of troops and supplies. The Department of Militia and Defence took over administration of the facility from the British Army in 1906.
