Egremni Beach is located at the southwestern tip of Lefkada and is known for its stunning beauty. The beach is about 2.5 km long and surrounded by steep cliffs which creates an untouched and isolated atmosphere. The water is crystal clear and deep turquoise, which is the reason for being known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean.
Access to the beach is a bit challenging, as you first have to walk for about 1.1 km down an asphalt road from the parking lot and then go down a long staircase with 411 steps (including the concrete steps). But the effort is definitely worth it, as the view and tranquility you find here are truly unique.
The new staircase to Egremni Beach was completed in 2022. After the landslide in 2015 that damaged the original staircase, a lot of effort was made to create a safe access to the beach. The new staircase allows visitors to reach the beach more easily again and enjoy the impressive scenery.
There are parking spaces at the end of the freely accessible road and a reasonable parking fee is charged even at the end of the season.
