Paradoxa Track is named after a plant species common in the area, Acacia Paradoxa, aka Kangaroo Thorn, Kangaroo Acacia, Prickly Wattle. Also sometimes called the Cacher's Friend or Bastard Bush!
The species name is from the Greek words para which means near and doxa meaning glory. This probably refers the unattractive and thorny shrub being quite showy when it is in bloom.
It makes an excellent habitat and food source for birds and butterflies.
