Advent Calendar 2024 Day 9: St Michael, Stanton by Bridge

This concept of an advent calendar set of church micros is unashamedly copied from a set I found in Moray, Northern Scotland. When I discovered those, I knew I had to do something similar. All of these church micros are set in South Derbyshire, although geographically the district is quite wide spread as you may have noticed from A-Z and similar caches. I created a list of candidate churches in the area; some had had church micros before but I had no qualms about "resurrecting" those. There are a couple of unusual or off the beaten track entries in the set as well just to add to interest.
This church is a Grade 1 listed building. It is part of a combined benefice that includes Melbourne and other local churches. The church is medieval with elements from the 11th to the 13th century. It was rebuilt around 1682 by the Rector, Augustine Jackson. A further restoration was undertaken between 1865 and 1866 under the supervision of the architect Ewan Christian with the contractor being John Wood of Derby.
The cache is placed outside the churchyard, please exercise stealth as ever.

Logging Etiquette
Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
