On the day of this event it will be 5 months until the Tassie Event in Sorell. Whether you have been caching for years or are new to the game, come along and we will give you the latest updates on what we have planned. We will also try to answer any questions you may have.

Where: The Pancake and Crepe Shop, 85 High Street, Oatlands
When: Sunday 5th October, 2025, 12noon - 1.30pm

Daylight Savings OR Daylight Saving Time?

"Is it 'daylight savings' or 'daylight saving'?
Technically, it's called daylight saving time — without an "s" at the end of "saving".
So that's the way we refer to it in ABC articles.
But, conversationally, a lot of people drop the "time" and add an "s" to refer to it as "daylight savings" instead."
Please indicate your Will Attend at least a week before the event (29 September 2025) along with the number of attendees for booking purposes. Also advise if you have any special dietary requirements. Family and friends welcome.

In January we broke the news that after Sunbury (held March 2025) the next big event Geocaching Victoria would be held in Tasmania in March 2026. At the time, it could not be announced, but soon after this event was awarded Mega status. This will be Tasmania's first ever Mega Event –
The Tassie Event (GCAZTAZ). Mark your calendars for 7-8 March, 2026!
What Makes a Mega Event Special?
The goal of Mega-Events is to strengthen the geocaching community through amazing social experiences. These events often also result in inspired ways to play the game, friendships that last a lifetime, and incredible amounts of fun. Mega-Event organizers have great relationships within the geocaching community, serve as model event hosts, and strive to create amazing experiences for their geocaching community.
