My first cache! And of course, it's train centric.
This part of the trail, at the highest point of the bridge, crosses over the BNF railway, originally part of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. The single track here goes east into Aurora where it parallels the Virgil Gilman trail, and merges with the BNF two track. To the West, their is a siding through Big Rock that was a major reason for this new bridge as Rhoades Street, the only crossing in town, is often blocked with stopped trains.
This cache is NOT on the bridge itself, but just to the North.
No parking allowed on the road as you can't get over the divider to the trail anyway.
