A weekend of 5 CCEs - should be a tonne of fun :)
But, wait, there's more ... Sitting relaxing by the pond at the end of the day should be the perfect way to end the weekend.
I was part of the discussions about having this weekend of CCEs, and volunteered to hold one, but the others were more organised than me, and got theirs organised, submitted and published before I even started ... but that made my decision easy - have my event late enough to be the required 4 hours after the lunch BBQ one, but early enough that people who have a long drive home may be able to come for at least some of the time. I am [Edit: WAS planning to hold a CITO before this event - but CITO events also cannot be within 4 hours of a CCE, so no CITO today, unless someone else holds one at 6am or earlier - lol] and there are also plenty of caches within a couple km of this location, including my 3 caches on islands, in this pond - so you may want to bring a kayak .. or borrow mine, which I am planning to have here at the event, and possibly for a while beforehand :)
I will probably bring some tea/coffee stuff, and maybe some water/cordial, and some biscuits or chips or something, but feel free to bring your own drinks, nibbles, dinner... and/or some food to share :)
You might also want to bring a picnic rug or camp chair, as there is only one bench to sit on. I do intend to bring a few plastic garden chairs that I have, as well.
I was (not sure I got organised in time, but we will see ... ) also planning to provide some similar "entertainment" to that at my previous events here, and the one not far from here ... probably before and/or during this event :)
btw, I did have a different name in mind for this event, but there is a character limit on Geocache/Event names, so I couldn't call it "Aykayem's Awkwardly Added, Boaty Belated Birthday, Crazy Community Celebration, Done Dam Differently, Enjoyable Evening Event. :)
Dam? - the view of the Sunset will be over the dam wall of this settlement pond ... and, yes, I know Sunset is just after this event ends, but feel free to stay an extra 10 or 15 minutes and watch it with me :)
If I was too late to get the "surprise" to happen, I possibly might, probably toward the end of the event, just happen to mention a set of coordinates to something else very close by :)
