Clark, Ohio. Had a hard time finding any meaningful information about this little burg! You can find lots of information about Clark County and Clark Township, but I could find nothing about the city of Clark. Clark township’s last census had 670 people living in this 25 square mile township, or about 26 people every square mile.
You would think with such a small place, the graveyard wouldn’t be that big, but a brief visit will prove otherwise. Not a HUGE cemetery, but one with quite a few occupants, and from quite a while ago! Some of the residents birth dates that caught my eye are:
- Joseph Beall - noted him because he was born 110 years to the day before me right here in Coshocton County!
- Arnold Cain - ABOUT 1775!
- Jane Duncan - January 12, 1780
- Archibald Clark - 1740, in Ireland!
Stage 1: Harold B. Miley served his county well for 42 months during WWII. A quick search will turn up his obit, with a short mention of his service.
Calculate ABC as: 4 digit year Harold was born minus 1242; the checksum for the digits in your answer should be 16.
Calculate DEF as: 4 digit year Harold went to the big hanger in the sky minus 1151; the checksum for the digits in your answer should be 17.
Final is at: N 40° 26.ABC’ W 81° 53.DEF’
As with all cemetery caches, dawn to dusk only, be respectful. Give the terrain a little respect but no climbing ropes required. Please re-situate the final as you found it.
Unactivated travel bug for FTF. Enjoy!
