Geocache Description:

Devised by Cheltenham Borough Council, the Cheltenham Circular Walk follows a route of approx 26 miles and gives wonderful views of the Cotswolds escarpment. The walk starts and ends at Cheltenham Racecourse and passes Prestbury, Leckhampton and Dowdeswell Reservoir.

The Cheltenham Circular Caching Challenge of more than 100 caches follows this walk. It starts at Cheltenham Race Course with #1, and the caches are numbered clockwise. But you could of course start and stop anywhere along the route.

If you can't manage it in a day, then why not stay around the area. Cheltenham Borough Council have a tourist information office that will help you with a number of things, including accommodation.

As you work your way round the Cheltenham Circular Caching Challenge, don't forget to collect numbers for the bonus cache.

I have taken on the task of getting the CCCC back up and running after many of the original caches have been archived over the years. I adopted some of the caches back in 2020 and been placing some new ones since. Its been a slow process but slowly the route is starting to take back its original shape!

This section of caches have been named after Cheltenham Town Football club past players, managers and legends. This particular cache has been named after Michael (Mike) Duff. Duff began his Cheltenham Town career in 1996 and stayed at the club until 2004, with a season on loan to Cirencester Town. In 1999, Duff scored a 93rd minute goal against Yeovil Town, resulting in a match win and promotion into the English Football League. From 2018-2022, Mike Duff was appointed as the Cheltenham Town FC manager, where he proceeded to lead the club into their highest ever league, League One.
