Zanimivi podatki:
V Braniku oziroma njegovi bližini sta dve avstro-ogrski vojaški pokopališči iz prve svetovne vojne. Na obeh so pokopani večinoma vojaki, ki so padli na bližnjih bojiščih ali pa so umrli v vojaški bolnišnici v Braniku.
Po podatkih italijanskih oblasti, ki so v tridesetih letih 20. stoletja vodile prekopavanje vojaških pokopališč, je na pokopališču Branik II pokopanih več kot 400 avstro-ogrskih vojakov. Iz prvotnega medvojnega pokopališča so danes v celoti ohranjeni le trije častniški grobovi, drugi so zravnani z zemljo in preraščeni s travo.
Leta 2008 je bil v spomin na padle romunske vojake na soški fronti na tem pokopališču postavljen spomenik.
Dostop do pokopališča I in II:
Vojaški pokopališči Branik I. in II. se nahajata v neposredni bližini Branika. Vojaško pokopališče Branik I. se nahaja v samem centru vasi v neposredni bližini civilnega pokopališča, vojaško pokopališče Branik II. pa se nahaja poldrugi kilometer stran v smeri proti Spodnji Branici tik pred zaselkom Hmeljaki.
Ta zakladek se nahaja v neposredni bližini Vojaškega pokopališča Branik II. Za vpis najdbe, prinesi pisalo.

At Branik, or rather in its vicinity, there are two Austro-Hungarian World War I military cemeteries. Buried in these two cemeteries are mainly soldiers who fell on the nearby battlefields or died in the military hospital at Branik.
According to the data of Italian authorities that organized exhumation of soldiers from military cemeteries in the 1930s, more than 400 Austro-Hungarian soldiers are buried at the Branik II cemetery. Of the original war cemetery only three officers’ graves have been completely preserved, while the rest were levelled and grassed.
In 2008, a monument was erected in this cemetery to the memory of Romanian soldiers who had fallen on the Isonzo Front.
Access to the cemetery I and II:
The two military cemeteries (Branik I & II) are situated in the immediate vicinity of Branik. The military cemetery Branik I is in the very centre of the village in the immediate vicinity of the civil cemetery and the military cemetery Branik II lies at a distance of a kilometre and a half towards Spodnja Branica, just before the hamlet Hmeljaki.
