Il nome di questo treno, coniato nel 1984, racchiude le caratteristiche che lo rendono unico: “trenino” perché è a scartamento ridotto ed è la linea ferroviaria più lunga d’Europa; “verde” sia per i colori dei paesaggi mozzafiato che attraversa, sia perché il primo trenino, alla fine dell’Ottocento, era alimentato a carbone, rappresentando un’opzione più ecologica per l’epoca!
