Spring Equinox is around the corner - Days will again be longer than nights – more time for caching with natural light!
However, contrary to popular belief, Equinox does not mark equal length of day and night. Due to some quirks of physics and definitions, the days are always longer at Equinox. Day and Night are of equal length at Equilux. This year Spring Equinox falls on September 23rd while Equilux will be 4 days earlier on the 19th. Let’s celebrate on the day between the two!
Please come and join us for our Community Celebration Event to acknowledge light and dark, sun and moon, Yin and Yang. There will be coffee and tea (first in, best served) - either dark or clouded with milk, and some black and white snacks.
When: Sunday 21 September 2025, 10am - Noon
Where: Meet us near “Solace”, where the moon will be present and the sun has been invited to join us.
If it rains or is windy, the place still has its special magic. There is also a “seat with a view” though the concrete is quite hard to sit on. Feel free to BYO keep-cups, we will provide a few drinking vessels.
And then, off you wander, to enjoy some Sunday caching in beautiful Geelong. Make the best of the daylight hours! That’s what the geocaching community is about.
