נחבא בין שופט למלך מסתתר לו חייל פשוט שמצא את מותו בטרם עת בפרשה לא לו עקב השתייכות לארגון האצ"ל.

הפרשה שהביאה אל מותו החלה בפיגוע שבוצע ע"י האצל שגררה אחריה השלכות כואבות (טבח בתי הזיקוק) וגררה חטיפות הדדיות של ארגון ההגנה ושל ארגון האצ"ל של פעילים ומפקדים משני צידי המתרס. אחד הנחטפים היה ידידיה סגל.
עד היום לא ידועות נסיבות מותו האמיתיות עקב החטיפה והחקירה בעינויים ע"י ההגנה.
ארגון ההגנה טוען שידידה ברח מהחקירה והגיע אל הכפר טירה ששם נרצח ע"י תושבי הכפר ואילו ארגון האצ"ל טוען שלא אפשרי הדבר כיוון שידידיה הכיר טוב את הכרמל ולא היה מגיע אל הישוב הערבי וככל הנראה נרצח בזמן החקירה וגופתו הושלכה ליד הישוב טירה כדאי לטשטש את החשדות..
בהחלט מדובר בתקופה עצובה בהיסטוריה של העם היהודי.
שלט לציון שם הגן נמצא רק בכניסה המזרחית ואין סממנים נוספים לאזכור שמו בגן.
ידידיה מונצח בעוד אנדרטאות של נופלי חיפה ברחבי העיר ושל נופלי האצ"ל ברחבי הארץ.

Hidden between a judge and a king is a simple soldier who found his untimely death in an affair that was not his fault because of his affiliation with the Etsel organization.
Gan Yedidya Segal, a member of the Etsel, has a small playground and a nice library of books. Hidden behind the houses of Ehud Ben Gera Street with additional access from King Yotam Street.
The affair that led to his death began with an attack carried out by the Etsel with a retaliation of painful consequences (the massacre of the refineries) and led to mutual kidnappings by the Haganah and the Etsel organization of activists and commanders on both sides of the fence. One of the abductees was Yedidya Segal.
To this day, the true circumstances of his death because of the abduction and interrogation under torture by the Haganah are unknown.
The Haganah claims that Yedida escaped from the interrogation and reached the village of Tira, where he was murdered by the residents of the village, while the Etsel organization claims that this is not possible because Yedidya knew the Carmel well and would not have reached the Arab settlement, and apparently, he was murdered during the interrogation and his body was dumped near the settlement of Tira.
This is certainly a sad period in the history of the Jewish people.
A sign marking the name of the garden can only be found at the eastern entrance
There are no other signs to mention his name in the garden. Yedidya is commemorated in other memorials of the fallen of Haifa throughout the city and of the fallen of the Etsel throughout the country.
