Please do not use the parking spots of the establishment closest to the host. Save those for their customers as there is very limited space to begin with and they're going to have a tight squeeze as it is. This house was built in 1925, which is just a few years shy of the promise of 'a car in every garage.' So clearly, developers didn't have automobile ownership in mind at the time of construction.
Incidentally, the subject matter of this cache, just left of the host, was built in 1921 and used to have a big front porch with a full-sized swing, where I used to love spending time.
It's not usually hard to find somewhere to park at one of the nearby restaurants. Just be really careful if you need to cross this busy (not always so peaceful) street.
Oh hey ... Why did the geocacher cross the road?
To get to another hide!
Also, please be respectful of the host and contents therein, as well as the property at the GZ. Ms. Sunny has very graciously granted permission for me to place a cache here, which I really appreciate. I want to make sure she doesn't regret giving my idea a chance.
And now for some holiday poetry 📜🖋
Â
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the city,
Everything was so festive and the light shows were pretty.
Celebrations abounded as folks donned dapper duds;
And many enjoyed a spa-day with best buds.
Ms. Fanny, who raised several kids right next door;
was a widow of a man whose initials spelt WAR.
She was born to this town in year eighteen-eighty-eight,
And eventually, Six-Ten Peace became her estate.
Â
As she'd done for her family and guests every year,
A big party was thrown for her loved ones, far & near.
Hosting offspring and their offspring and their offspring to boot;
For us younglings, she had presents and candy and loot!
Up until the age nine, while vacationing from school;
This was always the shin-dig I yearned for each Yule!
Then on the way home as we drove out-of-sight,
We toured festive displays, with such joyful delight.
Â
Great-grandma was loving and kind and so sweet;
She made hand-crafted ornaments at her home on Peace Street.
What a blessing to see her surrounded by love;
She was cherished as a treasure, a bright light from above.
Of the toll stress can take, we should all be aware;
And Believe in embracing the gift of self-care.
From the hustle and bustle, take a respite a while;
If you stop for a good read, you just might find a smile 🙂
Â
Hope you have fun seeking out this small cache;
And learning about my great-grand's Christmas bash 🎄
