Excerpt from Pioneering with a Piece of Chalk: About two miles north of Granum. Opened in April 1904 by Miss Cheney (Mrs. Cyrus Little). In 1950, it was moved to Granum to be used as a library. It was hard ot keep young female teachers in hte area, so the Board Secretary, Jake Merkle, wrote to the Ministry of Education and asked them to send the oldest and most unattractive teacher they could find, so the children would get educated.
