伊良部大橋は2006年3月18日に着工し、2015年1月31日16時に供用が開始された。通行料金を徴収しない橋としては日本最長である。総事業費は399億円。
Construction of the Irabu Bridge began on March 18, 2006, and it was opened to traffic at 4:00 p.m. on January 31, 2015. It is the longest toll-free bridge in Japan. The total cost of the project was 39.9 billion yen.
