Event Date: Tue 21 January 2024
Event Time: 10:30 - 13:30
This is a participation event.
Point Lillias is an important part of the Avalon Coastal Reserve. It is RAMSAR listed as a wetland of international importance. Its health has an impact on migratory bird species that range from New Zealand to Alaska. However, it cops the brunt of litter washing into Corio Bay from Geelong storm water drains and streets. Come help with this important clean-up.
10:20 Meet at Rally Point for registration and safety briefing.
10:30 Clean begins.
11:30 Morning tea provided by Conservation Volunteers Australia.
12:00 Resume clean.
12:30 Return for sorting and data collection.
13:00 Clean ends.
We understand Geocachers lead a busy lifestyle, and there is no obligation to stay for the full time. However, it is important that you attend the registration and safety briefing.

The location is somewhat remote - take note of what attributes are missing! The clean will focus on the area around "The Corner". If we clean that area with alacrity, we will possibly move on to two back-up locations (shown in orange above).
This is smack-bang in the middle of Summer, which means bring:
- your own hat;
- sunscreen;
- water bottle (and maybe a snack);
- gloves;
- and maybe even a snake bandage or two.
Reusable garbage bags will be provided, as will a limited number of gloves and rubbish grabbers.
