Join us for a Geocaching Community Celebration Event focused on creating Adventure Lab® “geo art” for the Inland Northwest!
Our mission: organize a collaborative Adventure Lab project that (with enough community participation) can help spell “WA” and “ID” on each side of the Washington/Idaho border along I-90. Think of it like a community-built smiley… but with state pride and waypoints.
This is a planning + coordination event where we’ll:
-
Brainstorm themes, locations, and storylines for each Adventure Lab
-
Figure out the letter layout and spacing so the geo art reads clearly on the map
-
Coordinate who has credits and who wants to build which part
-
Discuss how we can recycle / repurpose used Adventure Lab locations for this project where it makes sense
-
Share tips on building strong, fun, and sustainable AL experiences
Please bring:
-
A laptop if you have one (the library has Wi-Fi)
-
Any Adventure Lab credits you may have available
-
Ideas for safe, accessible stops and creative mini-stories
-
Optional: notes on existing/older ALs you think could be refreshed or adapted
Good to know:
-
You don’t need to be an AL expert to attend.
-
If you’re curious about creating your first Adventure Lab, this is a great place to learn.
-
Even if you don’t have credits, your local knowledge and creative brainpower are hugely valuable!
Let’s build something that’s fun, collaborative, and a little legendary—because nothing says “community celebration” like turning the map into a friendly border high-five.
When: Tuesday, December 30, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Where: Spokane Valley County Library
We hope to see you there—bring your ideas, your TO-DO energy, and your best “we can totally pull this off” attitude!
