Our Community Celebration Event will take place on the Winter Solstice which marks the first day of winter. It occurs on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 7:03 am PST (10:03 am EST). Because 7:03 am is awfully early, we will start our celebration pretending to be on Eastern time instead. It will be the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
We will meet at the gazebo at GZ in the Rancho Mirage Community Park, a short distance from Highway 111. We can't predict the weather during winter so please dress accordingly. There are tables/benches at the gazebo and parking and restrooms are both close by.
During the event, we will have a few refreshments. Also, there will be a drawing for some giveaways, and Santa may surprise you with something new in the park. By attending this event, you will receive the December solstice souvenir (available 12/19-22/2025), a "Celebrating GIFF" treasure if you haven't already completed that collection, and meet and visit with other cachers in a beautiful park. We hope to see you there!
Added information: As mentioned in the Will Attends, a couple of local cachers are going to bring a stockpile of geocaching material to part with. This could be an early Christmas for the rest of us. Come and see what is available.
