COMMUNITY CITO/CELEBRATION EVENT
Let's CITO Larrabee State Park!
For this CCE, we are focussing on an acrtivity that is very popular among geocachers. I am a huge fan of Mother Nature so I'm hosting a CITO!
This is Washingtons very FIRST state park and it sure is a beauty! The forest truly meets the sea at Larrabee. Larrabee even has its own very unique sandstone, Larrabee sandtone, prominent in the Chuckanut mountains. Larrabee State Park is usually a pretty clean park, but I'm sure we can find some stuff worth CITO'ing. Explore the miles of trails, take in that amazing view, find some geocaches, visit with the others and engage in some geo-chatter.
From the state park website: "Set on the seaward side of Chuckanut Mountain near Bellingham, Larrabee State Park is known for its postcard views of Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands. Come enjoy this 2,748-acre camping park and explore 8,100 feet of saltwater shoreline. It's no wonder that this iconic outdoor locale was established as Washington's first state park."

Where: Larrabee State Park @ 245 Chuckanut Drive in Bellingham. SOUTH SHELTER
When: Saturday, December 28, 2025 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. ( I'm sorry for the early time! The guidelines required more time between events)
What: We will CITO the park. I will bring my firepit, snacks and maybe even warm drinks. THERE IS A LARGE SHELTER with plenty of picnic tables AND electrical outlets. We can be out of the rain.
