Please note the Terrain Rating and Attributes on this geocache and make a wise judgement call. Do not attempt this geocache if you are not in good physical condition or if you have balance issues. Also, please do not attempt to cross the rail bridge if surfaces are icy. Do not bring children or dogs over the bridge.

Welcome to the Rail trail that Time Forgot. This is the trail west from the parking on Preneveau Road (County Road 50) which runs towards Havelock, paralleling Highway 7. To get closer to this geocache, you may be able to park along the road on the 7th Line. Please do not park on Highway 7. Also, do not attempt to approach this cache from the 8th Line.
The further west you walk, the more forgotten the trail becomes with downed trees across the rails. The ATV club no longer maintains this section and it might be overgrown with weeds in summer. The geocaches are winter friendly and were placed in winter. If you are walking your dog, you will want to tie him up before you cross the abandoned train bridge and leave him with a partner on the east side of the bridge. Another option might be to bring a sled if the dog will sit in the sled. The Terrain rating is high because the train bridge is not designed for hikers. You will need to balance from beam to beam to cross the creek. The beams are about 1/2 of a foot apart from each other.
All geocaches were placed close to the trail, but, as with all trails in southern Ontario, be mindful of poison ivy and ticks. Most of all, enjoy the muggle-free area here. The only tracks we spotted were rabbit and coyote tracks in the snow along the trail. The old forgotten railway tracks with small trees growing between the rails is a unique sight.
