Welcome to the Grand River Marsh State Wildlife Area. This is a largely undeveloped natural area so you won't find nicely manicured trails here. In fact, during most of the year this might be a very challenging place for hiking. These caches were hidden early winter when the ground was frozen and so it was easy to navigate the terrain. However, none of the caches in this series are hidden far from the parking areas, so you shouldn't have to battle the terrain for too long. This land is used for hunting so please visit the DNR website and make sure you are prepared and wear blaze orange during any kind of hunting season. My suggestion would be to not even consider looking for these caches the first week of deer hunting season.
Classic Quilt Block Series
Geocaching isn't my only hobby, I also like to quilt. I love quilting because I get to create art that also keeps you warm and cozy. This geocache series will be showcasing different classic quilt blocks. It's incredible the different ways people have been creative to cut fabric into different, pleasing shapes. These days, with modern tools, you can make just about anything out of fabric. In the past, quilting was more limited. These classic patterns can still make some beautiful quilts.

This is the Ohio Star quilt block. It features a square center surrounded by triangles to create the points of the star.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Jim Holzwart of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager.
