The "Tech".
The "Delta Technical Center" was built in 1984. It was built by the
Millard County School District as a vocational school to serve the students
at Delta High School, Millard High School, and the adult population in the Millard
County area. It provides training for high school students in the following
areas: business, information technology, career guidance, wood work, CAD drafting,
machine tooling, welding, automotive technician, nursing, and cosmetology. Adults
are also welcome to attend any of their day time classes.
The school was first called the "West Central Utah Vocational Center".
After a few years the name was changed to the "Delta Technical Center."
The name was much shorter and easier to write, besides students in the area
have always just called it "The Tech".
It has provides training for many adults of the same areas in their evening
classes. ComNet classes from Utah State University and EdNet classes from other
colleges in the state classes also provide distance learning college classes
for adults who want to work on a college degree.
This is a mini cache. It started with a 1 MB simm key chain, an old memory
chip, 2 Ethernet coax T's, a key to lock your computer keyboard, and a log.
While you are in the neighborhood stop in and check out the classes.
