This letterbox hybrid geocache is a part of the Trek Ten Trails seasonal program. Participation in that program, while a lot of fun, is not required to log this cache.
Participation game cards, maps, and other info is available the OUTPOST 27 CACHE. You can also visit our website Friends of the Parks or check out our Profile for more details.
For anyone not familiar with Letterboxing, there is a log in the cache for you to sign and stamp (with your stamp), then you stamp your own log or paper (with stamp that is in the cache). If you do not have your own stamp, you can just sign the log.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE STAMP WITH YOU; IT IS NOT A TRADE ITEM!!!

The 1,100+ acre Marshal Hampton Reserve property was acquired by the Southwest Florida Water Management District in 2008. Polk County entered into an agreement with the Water Management District in 2010 to oversee the management of the property. The acquisition of this property also protected a significant amount of shoreline and floodplain swamp on the edge of Lake Hancock. Lake Hancock is often referred to as the headwaters of the Peace River. A variety of wildlife have been observed on the site, such as gators, bobcat, turkey and pileated woodpeckers. If you listen while you walk you may hear animals and insects moving about in the palmettos as this is a great place for them to hide.
