Anyone with their wits about them back in the late 80s and early 90s was aware of the epic classic life-changing TV show Unsolved Mysteries hosted by the legend of a human being Robert Stack. I was obsessed with that TV show and I still am. It haunts me. I will tell you that I swear I heard about the UFO crash in Aurora, Texas back in the late 1800s on that show. I cannot for the life of me find the segment or the episode that it was on. I'm sure it's simply a case of the effect of Mandela or even old lady brain. Nevertheless, legend says that it happend. When the UFO went down in Aurora, it famously took out this type of structure that you find before you. Coincidentally, I found this beacon while I driving to place My Friend Bob GCB2R95. Did my friend Bob's UFO crash down in Aurora? As Mr. Stack said in response to the question of if the Queen Mary ship is haunted .... "We cannot say yes and we cannot say no."
If you ever make it out to Aurora, Texas, which is west of the Buc ee's in Roanoke, which is just north of Ft. Worth- I encourage you to check out GC9FCQ1 at the Aurora welcome sign and GC10TM6 near what is said to be grave of the pilot of the craft that took down the type of beacon you see here before you. SlytherinTommy and GriffindorCharlie and I go visit the alien pilot's grave at least once a year and we leave personal swag on the gravestone and offer up words of benediction in honor and respect.
I do love this type of beacon. In fact, the final for my mystery cache GCAEN3H is hidden on such a beacon. I suppose if you're having difficulty solving it, you can search a radius of 2 miles from the posted coordinates for such a structure and mayhaps there it will be.
