Heybridge Cemetery
Heybridge Cemetery, built in 1887, is the smallest in the Maldon District. The onsite chapel was built in 1887 with London Stock bricks and has a clay-tiled roof. It forms a T-shaped with pointed-arch doorways and traceried windows. The front gable features a central circular window, with the date ‘A.D. 1887’ carved in stone above. On either side of the main arched doorway is a carved inscription at dado level reading ‘BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHICH DIE IN THE LORD’.

The non-denominational chapel is open for memorial events, so please be respectful if a service or burial is taking place when you visit.
