I danced last season and had a blast! I'm so glad they decided to do it again. Last year I performed four dances. The link below is of one of the dances I performed. Sorry for the bad angle of the video, my daughter recorded it.
La Iguana
1st Michigan Folklorico Dance Festival. La Iguana was one of my favorite to perform as a kid. And of course I was glad I got to do it again.
We will be dancing to live Mariachi music.

Yes, that's me!
The posted coordinates will take you to the doors of the building. As you enter the building, go to your left and up the stairs. The University of Michigan theatre is there. There might be signs for direction. I also added a waypoint for parking.

Come join me at the University of Michigan - Flint at the theatre. I will be dancing! It's a FREE event!
What will I be dancing you ask? I will be performing Mexican folkloric dancing. I've done it as a kid for many years and ended up quitting during the middle of high school. Also before that, I took tap lessons for two year and performed the routine.
I have always loved Mexican folkloric dancing since I started it. Why I quit? I don't even know or remember that answer. But now as an adult I truly miss it, it has always been a part of me and my culture. I even do some dance steps around the house and sometimes at work.🤣🤣🤣.
The last time I performed was at the Cinco de Mayo in Saginaw of 2009. It was with the current dancers of the group and the rest of us, the alumni dancers. 🕺💃
It's time to come out of dancing retirement again. I will attending a workshop on Saturday, the day before the performance. And we are going to perform on the day of this event. And best of all ......... it's FREE! And it's open to the community. So come and have an enjoyable time.
Here are YouTube videos of some dances I use to do that we're my favorite to perform.
Los Machetes
Veracruz - La Bamba
Dance of the Old Man
