How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Placed near the scenic Etowah River near Campbell Mountain. Not difficult if you find the correct forest service road to access.

This cache was placed in memory of LTC Ronald Bradford, Civil Air Patrol, a consummate search leader who would have found Geocaching an interesting pastime. He had a knack for finding things in the woods, and was also a techno-head. Some of his compatriates donated items for this cache during a recent campout.

The cache itself is a small OD ammo box, filled with trinkets.

The location is NW of Dahlonega, GA, near Campbell Mountain, site of many legendary training exercises led by LTC Bradford. To keep with the spirit, a topo quad and a spirit of exploration will be necessary to pick the correct forest service road to access the target area. Nearby is the scenic Etowah River.

Happy Hunting!

ADDED 15 DEC: It is suggested that, to avoid water obstacles, one approach the cache from the northwest. A wheeled vehicle may be used to get to within a few hundred meters of the cache.
