Geocache Description:

This cache was the Exceptional People Creating Exceptional Caches before it was plundered. It has been replanted as the Hey Now, You're An All-Star in honor of the Aug. 28th, 2003 GeoTeaming event for All-Star Directories http://www.allstardirectories.com.

You'll enjoy the view finding this cache dedicated to the Hyatt Regency Bellevue Geoteaming event held on September 17th, 2002 in Seattle’s Discovery Park. This event was conducted by http://www.playtimeinc.com PlayTime Inc., the Official Geoteaming Provider. Posted with permission from Geocaching.com.

This team building event started with a bus ride from the Hyatt Regency Bellevue with a video message from the Hyatt CEO about “Exceptional People Creating Exceptional Experiences!” After introductions and a brief discussion, we arrived at Discovery Park where the teams were welcomed with 24 GPS units and walkie talkies. After GPS training, the groups were broken up into teams and discovered that they had a room for an executive to make up. BUT, all the items for the room were in various locations, in this case, hidden caches all over Discovery Park. Each team needed to find 2 caches and return to the central site where they would start putting together the room.

From bed sheets to robes to candles and matches, the teams moved furiously through the park, learning that the fastest route from A to B is not necessity a straight line. As one team had trouble with one cache, another team dispatched members of their team to help out. Finally, the room was complete!

In the debrief, the key lessons learned were that clear communication is difficult and required in high-pace environment, that consensus and choosing the same goal among the team members was crucial, that you help out the team that is struggling in order to create exceptional customer experiences, and most of all, it’s the people, not the technology, that makes the experience great.

This cache is a clear, signed Tupperware container with the container contents from each of the Hyatt Regency Bellevue staff.

The original cache contents were created by Steve, Bob, Kathleen, Toni, Jenny, Nicole, Brent, Michael, Maria, Jeannie, Jan, Michon, P.J., Steve, Raynell, Chris, Yamac, Seth, Erin, Charlie, Tammy, Julie, Chas, Sergio, Gene, Kristine, Barb, Andreas, Stella, Suzanne, Berta, Stacy, & John.

This training was arranged by Nicole Nopper of the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
