Geocache Description:

When: Sunday, November 2 2025, 10:15am-10:45am

Where: Panama Hotel and Tea Room

Join me for a cup of tea 🍵 and some geo-chat after we wrap up a CITO Event at Hing Hay Park nearby. No purchase is necessary to join

Historical Note:

The Panama Hotel and Tea Room is a rare surviving example of a Japanese-style public bathhouse and boardinghouse that served Seattle’s Nihonmachi (Japantown). It gained literary prominence in Jamie Ford’s novel Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, where it notes hidden histories of Japanese American families forced into internment camps during World War II.
