W. C. Fields is famous for saying 'My Little Chickadee' in a comedy/western movie by the same name. Made in 1940, it also starred Mae West and Gene Austin. Mae West is Flower Belle Lee who is run out of town because of suspicion of illicit relations with the Masked Bandit. She meets up with Cuthbert J. Twillie, (W.C. Fields) a con man and pretends to marry him 'for respectibility'. Twillie is named sheriff by town boss Jeff Badger... with an ulterior motive. Meanwhile, both stars inimitably display their specialties, as Twillie tends bar and plays cards, and Flower Belle tames the town's rowdy cowboys.
W.C. Fields was a juggler, pool shark, and comedian. He had a raspy voice, bulbous nose and a sarcastic personality.
He was adored by the masses and his deadpan reactions to situations in his films keep audiences laughing to this day.
This cache contains items relating to birds- a toy chickadee, bird book, bird sunglasses, a bird on skiis, a bird letter opener and a pen with a bird on it. Bring bird seed- the chickadees are quite tame!
