A Church Micro Cache was placed here by Riddelske back in June 2011 and was adopted by Chris-King in 2015. It was a Traditional cache. However more recently (2024) it kept disappearing and so it was decided it was time to archive that one - now resurrected with this new one:-)
From that cache page the history of the church was brief and said the following :-
The church, which is dedicated to All Saints, stands on an eminence, close at the west end of the village, with the parsonage-house on the north side of it. It is large and well-built, consisting of three isles and three chancels, having a handsome square tower at the west end, with a beacon turret at one corner. In it are six bells, and a set of chimes.
There is a small vestry room on the north side of the great chancel, in which lies buried Sir Edward Henden, baron of the exchequer, anno 1662, and several of the family of Randolph and Everden.
I have looked for further information but not able to find more though I have been told by the Rector of the church who has been very helpful with the placement of this cache that on Saturday mornings, Tuesday afternoons or Thursday mornings the church and library are open and visitors are very welcome to pop into the church and have a look around.
Parking can be found in neighbouring streets.
The previous cache was GC2Y9AJ and it is that cache page that you will have to research to get the final co-ords for this new cache.
How many finders of that cache were there, as shown by the number in the logged visits section = ABC
The last three digits of the Eastings for that cache = DEF
This cache can be found at
N51 06. B (D+E) A E000 38. (B-F) C (D+E)
Good luck - please be stealthy at GZ it can be busy at times
