After publishing 20 caches in one day with a few mistakes, I found that I had left gaps along the trail. Gaps need to be filled! So this cache fills the gap for another fun find along the trail! And, who doesn't love decimals? Enjoy the hunt!
Welcome to Free the Vandalia Power Trail series. The Hendricks County side of the trail requires an application for each cache placed. The application is long. It requires potential environmental impacts, pictures, initials, checked boxes, etc. you get the picture. It would be a monumental task for me to place the 20+ caches and fill out all of the paperwork. So I protested by creating this series and putting all of them on the Putnam county portion of the trail and naming them "Free the Vandalia Trail".
Fast forward to now. I reached out to the HCPD and ask for clarification and help for someone like me placing multiple caches on the Hendricks county side. They were more than happy to accommodate me and allow me to place multiple caches with one application. I also can't be as creative with these hides. Most of the hides are bison tubes though several are pill bottles. No hide is on park equipment (ie benches, fences, signs). Very little bushwacking will be required. You must bring your own pen. The pill bottles will hold small tradeables and/or travel bugs. Know this, I am tall so a couple may be up instead of down. There are no caches on the horse trails! Have fun and bosst your finds!
If you haven't tried the Putnam county side, it is much more creative. Give it a shot. Plus it's 20+ more caches! Also check out my hides South of here called, The 'Ent'rance, Guarding the 'Ent'rance, and Protecting the 'Ent'rance series.
