The dam/reservoir has a capacity of 1.614.000 m3 and is used for irrigation purposes.
It is in operation since 1964 and the reservoir has a surface area of 360.000 m2
Unfortunately in recent years it did not rain enough and the river Tremithos did not have water either, so the reservoir lay dry.
The reservoir area is sometimes used by motor cross enthusiasts during such dry periods.
The view from the top of the dam over the surrounding fields and hills is beautiful. And you can go for a little walk along the top of the dam. However, depending on where you go up, there are 40+ resp. 80+ steps to climb.
The cache is a container with space for small TBs or swag. Please bring your own pen. You do not need to open or climb any gates to get to the cache. Please be careful to hide the cache in the same way that you found it.
You can get to the dam via a dirt road, which is usually accessible all year round in a normal car. There is plenty of space to park.
