decided to place a cache to be published on mather's day.......and even though I no longer live on berryhill road, my son still does and will be able to maintain and/or replace this container/log should the need arise
sooooooo, a little 'history' ......I lived on berryhill road (berry hill spelling depending on whether o'hara or indiana township) for about 25 years and when the 'hill' is closed because of the weather, one might have to go at least 4 1/2 miles out of one's way to get from 'home' on the flat part of berry hill road in o'hara twp' to fox chapel high school and parts beyond......this was almost always an adventure getting to school activities, even when schools were closed for 'weather' since sports practice still happened!!
and, rumour has it that before I lived there (from 1975 till about 1998), that a school bus went down berryhill 'hill' on the ice and snow and hit the stone wall at the bottom.....but.....that was 'before my time'....so now the bus stop is at middle road
another interesting tidbit is that the dirty dozen bicycle race usually happened around thanksgiving weekend and often included berryhill 'hill' .....the dirty dozen included 12 (or 13) of the steepest hills in pittsburgh area.....now, who in their right mind would want to ride UP this hill on ice and snow on a bicycle?????? ....sooooo check the dates since it might NOT be in november and/or might NOT include the 'hill', but to my knowledge the 'dirty dozen' still happens in 'the burg'
and, finally....depending on your route to GZ and the time of year....., GZ may be easier (or more difficult) to access......
of course, one could always 'bike'/walk up the hill!!!
container is big enough for trackables!!!!
congratulations papazulu.....FTF
